MCF has collaborated with the following individuals and organizations in carrying out its mission in Myanmar:
Our Country Director, Ko Thura Aung
has been involved with MCF from its inception in 2007. He worked closely with Founder Max Harrington to establish relationships with rural monastic schools that were in need, conduct needs assessments, plan, supervise and oversee multiple school building construction projects, as well as manage the Stay in School program. Ko Aung has multiple skills and traits that suit the goals of MCF in providing universal primary education in Myanmar. We are enormously proud of him and grateful to him!
a charitable, not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering marginalized children and youth in the Mekong Sub-Region, which includes Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. Child’s Dream funded the cost of construction for building number one at Shan Chaung Monastic School and worked in partnership with our Country Director to oversee construction.
Our partner in constructing a two story classroom building at Zabu Oak Shaung Nunnery School and in running the “One Step for Girls” vocational training program in sewing and building self esteem.Key players in this group included Yan HtaikSeng and ShweWuttHmon.
Yangon Academy, formerly known as IECM, is a private, English-medium K-12 school offering an American-based curriculum. Our donation money is secured by staff this school and distributed to in-country projects. Teachers at this school have led field trips to monastic schools that are supported by MCF.
…and numerous Burmese/Mon/Karen/Kachin/Shan volunteers and donors!
